Free Sheet Music
Arabic Sheet Music
MEMA This is my favorite site. Most of the scores are transcribed by hand. One of the easiest to navigate as well.
Maqam Anthology on MikeOuds Forums A member of MikeOuds Forums has compiled a very good book of sheet music for Arabic and Turkish music. All the notations are for Arabic tuning, so you can learn many Turkish pieces on Arabic Oud here.
If you enjoy Arabic music, I also recommend that you sign up for my FREE Arabic Music 101 course. You’ll get access to over 40 piece of most essential Arabic music!

Persian Music (A work in progress)
UPDATE!!
I am in the process of scanning some Persian music specifically for the Oud. If you would like to see what I have sign up for the newsletter below, and reply to the email you receive, and ask me what I have.
Next week, we will continue the technique series. If you know of any other links for Middle Eastern music, by all means share them in the comments and I will check them out, and hopefully they will be added to the list.
Hi Navid,
Here are my favourite Turkish sites. They all use Turkish notation, which suits me as I use Turkish tuning. If you want to play with Arabic tuning, just play the written “A” on your D string.

click on “note archives”.

This is Turkish Radio Television’s Turkish classical sheet music archive.

This is Turkish Radio Television’s folk music archive.

This is another huge classical music archive, but it helps if you can read Turkish.
Hope this is helpful.

Hi Bill, thank you for sharing. This is great. I will check these out and add to the list.
I’d be interested in Persian sheet music thanks!
Great to hear, thanks for letting us know.
Try this site for Persian music scores: http://notkade.com/ I know the Arabic alphabet, but do not read Farsi. I find this site a bit difficult to navigate for that reason.
I’m also interested in Persian sheet music and could offer some of my own transcriptions.
Hey that’s awesome. I’m trying to get around to scanning a bunch of my own music from books I have and offer to share it with anyone who requests it, or host it somewhere. I’ll get in touch when I get around to it.
New Persian Tar player here, also interested in any Persian transcriptions you might have to share. Thanks!
That’s great, thanks for letting me know.
I’m a cellist not a guitar player. Do you have any really simple sheet music for the Egyptian oud?
I think the MEMA middle eastern music archive is your best source for simple scores. Link is above.
